Total FDI into Kazakhstan from UK sources between 2005 and 2018 reached $13.36 billion, which demonstrates a sustained interest from UK investors in Kazakh markets.

More than 800 legal entities

More than 800 British legal entities are registered in Kazakhstan. Royal Dutch Shell and Ernst&Young are included in the Council of Foreign Investors under the President of Kazakhstan.

English Law Summit

Kazakhstan and the UK enjoy strong cooperation in the judicial field. April 10 English Law Summit gathered leading Kazakh and UK legal professionals in the capital to discuss developments in English law and its benefit for businesses.


The UK's All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Kazakhstan conducts regular visits to Nur-Sultan to promote the exchange of information and best practices between the national parliaments of Kazakhstan and the UK.

Astana International Financial Center

The AIFC is a financial hub in Nur-Sultan that was officially launched on July 5, 2018. Kazakhstan cooperates with the U.K. in fintech, judicial and financial fields to implement world's best practices in the AIFC.

Education and Cultural Exchange

More than 5,000 students from Kazakhstan are studying at UK universities. Leading Kazakh and British universities established partnership programmes to facilitate student and faculty exchange.
